Im woundering what size tank i need for a few senegal bichirs

With heavy filtration you could keep 6 in 100 gallon. But really, I would shoot for a pair and just keep two in a tank that size.

What about armored bichirs? How many in say a 55 gallonm or maybe a 40 breeder

Really most of the bichirs you find in pet shops, will do fine as pairs in a 55 gal. Delhezi's will do fine in a 40 breeder.

yea, i work in a pet shop and know a few people so i could prob get my hands on most things no problem, Do you know of anything that is predetory that will make a tank look full, like in numbers, or is a set of bichirs my best bet

Exodon tetras. Get to about 4" and are very active and aggressive schoolers. They might leave the birchirs alone since they are fairly in active and stay mainly on the bottom.
