Bi Ube Filtration

I currently have a bi ube set up with some guppies in it, i dont like the look of the media that comes with the bi ube and plan to remove it, my plan is to put some bio rings under some gravel anyone think this would help filtration or would it be pointless?

yes it should do or you can get an internal or external filter foor it and completley take the tube out
