would a betta be suitable with 2 platys, 1 CAE and 3 danios in a 54L tank?
well planted, large rock with protective shelter and 2 filters going for super clean water.

I had two platy fish and three neons, didn't last two long with my betta. You can introduce them and see what happens. If you see aggression after a day I would say bring the fish back or put them in a diff tank. My betta jaws killed the three neons and one platy so I know he is best on his own. Make sure you have a cave/hiding spot for the Betta they like to make bubble nests in their and it makes them happy to sleep in.

If the filters create too much current, the betta will not be happy. Also some bettas will attack smaller fish. Make sure the tank is well decorated and the filters aren't too rough, and you could try this combination. Have tall plants (plastic or real) for the betta to hide in near the surface, and build his nest (they nest on the surface and males like to build a nest even without females present.)

the currunt is fairly slow and most if the plants in my tank are gaint ambulia and and tall yellow ivy plants so there should be lot's of secure areas to make bubble nests so it's looking like the tank is fine for bettas so far

I keep both of my bettas in community situations. One is in a 10 gallon with a small group of pure endlers. The other is in a 120 gallon community tank that includes neons, r5asboras, platies, mollies, gold barbs, rainbow cichlids and corydoras among other things. The one in the 120 needed to learn to respect territorial claims of the rainbow cichlids but his fins are growing back out now. The one with the endlers chased them a bit for a day or two until he figured out he couldn't catch them. Both are living well and are not pests in their tanks. They are no more aggressive than a typical tetra would be in the same tank.
