A while ago i bought two male bettas :) All is going well but im wondering whether there is something wrong with the smaller one of the two. He doesnt flare/get excited. Even when they are looking at each other Pinky goes nuts flapping his lil wings around and dancing around but the smaller one Ramjet just gives it a half arsed effort. When i watch them through the tank and feed them he gets excited...but im yet to see him flare..he doesnt look sad or sick. He likes to interact with the plants and eats well.

Do they all flare?

Ramjet..foriging for food..

my little Leo never flared until i tried to breed him, then he went back to his normal quite little self

I have one I've never seen flare - he just pauses and poses during his travels around the tank - knows darn well I'm admiring him.
This is great as he's in a tank with other fish.
And actually, I have a little crowntail I've never seen flare either, as far as I can remember, but he has nobody to flare at except me and some snails, really, although my other crowntail's flared at both.

We have some that flare at the slightest thing and others that just can't be bothered. They all have such different personalities but it's nothing to worry about :good:

Slightly off topic here, but Ramjet lookw exactly like my female betta! Except for the length of the tail..
