Bettas' Dorsal Fin Is Damaged

Ive had a betta for about 6 months now and he loves being in this 20 gallon tank. There are a couple of other fish in there but they leave him alone. A couple of Otto's and some neon tetras. Besides my tank getting attacked by algae latley I just noticed my bettas' dorsal fin has a hole in it and also a little peice hanging off of it as well. He seems healthy otherwise. loves to swim around and always eats. Im wondering if maybe he just took a little damage or if something is wrong with him. Thanks for any info.

Hmm, sounds like fin rot to me. Keeping the tank extra clean and adding some aquarium salt should heal it right up.
