I've had several bettas over the past few years, most of whom seem to have had the same issue with their fins, which have 'dissapeared'. I tried treating for fin rot, thinking it might be that, but nothing changed. I did weekly 25-30% water changes, but again nothing seemed to change. There generally wasn't any decor for them to tear the fins on, either. This leaves me to wonder if it was the very hard water I had at the time.

Anyone else had issues with hard water, or any ideas what it might have been?

Thanks :good:

Hard water can cause curling at the end of the fins on delicate finned bettas. It occurs a lot in HM's, VT's and CT's

Mine have all been VTs, pretty long finned. I'm not sure about curling, though the 'top fins' in particular 'dissapeared' pretty quickly, after only a few weeks/months. If hard water was the issue, would it be less likely to occur with a PK?
