I have a tank with 2 female betta in. 20L, bog wood with anubias nana and java fern and moss and sand substrate. Filtered.

I'd like to put a small army of cherry red shrimp in this tank as I think it would look great.

What's the probability (if any) of the girls eating the shrimp? Don't want to end up with them just being an expensive meal for the fish

Some bettas would probably eat them, others wouldn't. Maybe try putting some cheap ghost shrimp in to see how they react?

Ah, that lovely chestnut...I guess you're right actually...individual personalities etc

They ignore the snails, but I will try your suggestion :D

hi i put a ghost shrimp in my female betta tank within a week it completely disappeared ovbiusly girls made a meal of it!!

I'd love to put some amano shrimp in my 10gal tank with my 2 bettas, but I just don't trust my bettas :p
As was mentioned, just depends on their personality. I think maybe if there are enough hiding spots and if the bettas are still young or haven't really shown alot of aggression, it should be ok. *shrugs*

I'm still apprehensive to some degree, enough that I haven't got any yet

There's plenty of hiding space for the shrimp and yes, the girls are quite young and all get on well together and haven't attacked the snails at all.

I'll let you all know how it goes if I decide to go ahead with it :D
