Bettas And Ottos?

Can ottos be housed with bettas and would they be suitable for my 35litre tank?

I tried it and it didn't work, my Betta was flaring and attacking them within seconds of being introduced and their presence made him very uncomfortable so they went back to the LFS.

That said alot of people seem to have had success so worth a try if your LFS will take the Oto's back.
