I know people have mixed opinions on keeping bettas in community tanks but I just thought I'd throw this one out there. I have a 60L community tank and need to finish off my stocking. At the moment I have 6 neons, 3 otos, 3 amano shrimp, and 3 kuhlis. I've been thinking of adding a dwarf gourami to this mix for a while but recently have been looking at bettas. My question is, would it be possible to keep one male of each species together in the same tank or would they be too aggressive towards each other?

For fear of being totally slated I'd just like to add that this is just a small thought that's popped into my head recently and I haven't and wont rush out and buy either of these so don't worry about me doing anything daft! lol.

I don't think a male betta would be too happy in this type of community set up and definately not with a gourami, it may be better to just add gouramis and leave the betta out of the equation.
