Does everyone think it's okay to put Clown Loaches in with my male Betta?

From what i've read a Clown loach can grow up to 30cm so would probably get too big to keep with a Betta male. It was also recommended to have a minimum of 3. My hubby has a pakistani loach in with our females and he shouldn't get any bigger than 10cm.

Yeah, they have smaller Clown Loaches where I live that don't grow more than about 10cm.

Has anyone else had any experience or general advice? I would get some Cories but they aren't very colourful.

Unfortunately, there aren't any Clown Loaches that reach 10cm so they must have a different name.
Clown Loaches can grow to 12" and should be kept in groups of 5+ so wouldn't be suitable for your tank. :/

I can assure you they only grow to around 10cm here, but if you say so. Any other colourful alternatives?

As I said, they can't be true Clown Loaches. Might be worth finding the Latin name so we can ID them.
What size tank is your fighter in?

In a 30 litre you are restricted space wise. To be honest, your Betta will be more than happy on his own.
Bettas prefer little or no flow in their tank whereas the majority of fish prefer a good flow so you may struggle finding a fish that shares the Bettas needs. :/

That would be much too small. I have a tank of a similar size for my betta but haven't put anything else in.

Ooooh...! I want some tankmates so much - preferably bottom-dwellers. I'm sure there's more than enough space for four 5cm fish.

Cories prefer to be kept in groups of 5 or more and a 30 litre is not big enough for a group.

As I said above, I wasn't keen on Cories anyway thus the reason I asked for advice on other fish that could live happily in my tank.

Clown Loaches need large tanks (90+gals). If you say that the clowns in your area don't grow to more than 10cm, then they're either not true clowns, the person who told you that is lieing to you, or the clowns aren't fully grown.
