Two days ago I found the first signs of ich on my betta fish (white dots all over his head and body).got medication and so far have treated 3 days being today the third day. As I checked on my little guy today I noticed he hasn't got any white dots on him but still gave the medication. The weekend I have to miss the medication and do the 6th dose on Monday. What I would like to know is how long should I carry on the treatment for to make sure they are dead and if I should do any water changes as my pet shop said not to clean the tank (obviously remove food and remove carbon filter). My little guy has been swimming round quite happily playing through his air pump and eating quite well aswel. So yh any help like.

What are you using to treat the tank? It should say how long to use it for and if/when you need to clean the tank during treatment.

The instructions on it are quite hard to read. Its waterlifes fungal and white spot treatment. It don't say anything about cleaning the tank on it at all AMD only shows how many days to use it IE 1,2,3 miss 4-5and then add on 6. That and the dosage.

Hmm, I found this on the product on allpondsolutions website, not sure if it'll help or not. :c

"You will require 4 separate applications to complete the course of treatment. By adding the treatment on days 1, 2 and 3 the product safely compounds in strength and does not burden the already stressed animals with a hard hitting formula. The final dose on day 6 is a preventative measure to try and ensure the organism does not re-occur. PROTOZIN's properties are highly effective at treating all its target organisms. Protozin is our best selling disease treatment world wide."
