Betta Type Question

I was just wondering how many diff types bettas there are. Diff tails & colors?

strictly going by tail types, we generally see 4 kinds. crowntail, halfmoon, delta and veil. the bettas that are more closely related to the wild splendens have a short tail with a large caudal spread; they're called plakats. as for colors, orange, black, white, blue, yellow, red, green, purple and metallic

oh thanx nemo but is there such thing as Combtail, Doubletail, and SpadeTail? or any other. Sorry i dont really know much about bettas i only have one lol. But, yeah were can i get yellow or black b/c i cant find them in the stores i gone to.

i'm not sure about the spade tail. the combtail is how breeders came out with the crowntail. a combtail can be a mixture between crowntail and any other tail type besides crown. double tail is a trait that can happen with any tail type and it isn't too well understood yet.

i got my mustard gas ct at my local petco amazingly so i just check there periodically. if you want a yellow and black bicolored one (black body, yellow fins) look for search for chocolate bettas off of www.aquabid.com and ebay. when buying, unless you wanna spend a lot of cash, try to stick to breeders within your country as transhipping can cost a lot of $$$.

OH thanx i really want a yellow betta but were can i get it. Is it posible to buy them online or they will die b4 they even get here lol?

lol, i'm not the person to ask since i've never ordered bettas online. (local petco and stores in flushing/chinatown rock). some sellers do give a live arrival guarantee depending on which service you use.

oh i live in nj its like 1hr from chinatown lol. Fish will probably die but yeah thanx. The one i have i got it at petco maybe if i ask they can bring me a yellow one lol

You forgot plakat and halfmoon plakat. The basic types are Halfmoon, Plakat, Crowntail, Veiltail, and Delta tail. Crossings have been made such as Halfmoon Plakat, or other HM crosses. There are pretty much as many colors as you can imagine.
