They are far too small to house a betta, absolute minimum would be 2.5 gallons!!

NO NO NO you can not keep Bettas in theese horrid tanks. might be nice as a plant pot!!!

Nice design, but I would ot keep a betta in there. It is only .75 US gallons. It would be great, if it was bigger, I love the deisgn though.

No offence but that is an utterly useless table ornament and would kill a betta very quickly. Even shrimp should not be kept in that. It's bloody shameful you'd even think aBout putting a fish in one of those deathtraps.

There is no filter or heater and very little scope to attach either, and both are absolutely essential.

The bowl shape gives a ridiculously small surface area which means low oxygen. Bettas may be anabantoids and able to breathe atmospheric air in low oxygen conditions, but that is a survival mechanism evolved for periods of drought. No pet fish shoul have to merely " survive" in a desk ornament. They require a life oddly enough.

The volume of water is so horrifically small it would be a complete deathtrap that would require 100% water changes very day or two. Not only is that a time consuming thing to do, it is completely unessescary if you have a bigger tank containing a filter, which does the work for you and would provie a FAR more stable biological environment than this pot.

There is no swimming space, and even low light plants would struggle under that desklamp.

I don't know what the designer was thinking..oh wait, they WEREN'T thinking. Not about the basic requirements of the fish at any rate, Money more likely.

I'm with the others - that is totally unsuitable. You're a member here and I see you have been for a while, so you should know better. Promoting the sale of such a "tank" is disgusting - this site is about educating, not selling betta coffins.

UGH! I'm so annoyed right now. I'd like to see you being forced to live in a cardboard box a few feet big just sitting there in your own waste, because that is what people are subjecting their fish to with that stupid thing.

ACTUALLY on the other thread a poster suggested using them for brineshrimp. I think a little macro aquascaped brineshrimp tank would be interesting and brilliant. Might have to buy one! :p

how many litres is a jam jar?? not even 1 and when they are in a shop are they not keeped in that? if u havnt got anything good to say or want to buy please stay of my thread and stop spamming

just because shops do it doesn't mean its right......this size is cruel to any fish for any length of time. Bettas would be extremely unhappy in one of these. My guy lives in a 25litre tank and he uses every inch of it, I dread to think what he would be liked cramped in that thing.

People will comment on this unfortunately, as you advertised them on a forum where people care about fish.

yes but the betta only live in these 'jamjars' usually for a short time while they are being sold....unless an inexperienced person buys them and continues to keep them in a jamjar that is! but i like to think the majority of people are not so dim, and do their research beforehand.

Fish aren't kept in those 'jam jars' for very long at all. And although I disagree with the use of them in shops, I would rather see a betta in a 'Jam Jar' that gets it's water changes daily, than in a tank full of fish that are ripping it's fins to pieces.

Or in the shops around me they have 'betta walls', it is a wall with an external filter system.
Each betta is in a clear perspex box about 6" x 5" x 2", with an inlet for new filtered water and an overflow outlet pipe that goes back to the filter.
As it is only temporary and the shop does have to make money, I think these homes are ok.

But what you are selling isn't a 'temporary' container. You are advertising it as a suitable long term home.
A terrible buy on your part, and I think you'll find yourself stuck with them (No one here will buy one anyways!)

You should be trying to sell them as 3l biospheres or something. And suggesting people fill them with and aquatic substrate(Which you could supply in a measured amount), and then planting them with miniature aquatic plants(Which you could also supply, or at least supply a list of. Now THAT I would probably enjoy having on my desk and would consider buying.

Hello. I am afraid I agree with the others it is not suitable for betta or many/any fish come to that and the reason we voice this is not to spam but to ensure no one thinks these are adequate for that purpose which they are really not. Another reason these are not good is bettas are jumpers very known for it and you can't exactly lower the water levels or add an asthetic lid either. Too small and not adequate.

There have been some good suggestions what you can sell them as above though.
