hi i was wondering if i could put a heater in a plastic 19 litre tank for betta tank has under gravel filter and i was worried about heater melting plastic tank .and what type of heater i could use and how many watts. i live in england . i do have a 50 watt heater would this be ok or not?.

Hi,

A 50 Watt heater is a bit much for a 5 gallon (19 litre) tank.
A heater of 25 Watts would be more typical for that sized tank. :)

Not sure about a heater in an acrylic (plastic) tank:
However, because most mount to the tank with suction cups, and thus are seperated from the tank wall, I suspect it would be fine. :)
