Betta Tank Pics/advice

decided im going to get an aquastart 320 (28litre/6gallon) primarily for a betta. however, i also want 4-6 cherry shrimp, 4 pygmy cories, 2 adf's and an apple snail(and/or 3 assasin snails...i'll post different topic for questions on them in the invert bit or if anyone has info here?).

could anybody describe te perfect substrate(thinking light sand, decor/set-up to satisfy the needs of all of these or better still have any pics?

Hi, i use crab sand in my betta tanks, its ideal for corys as it doesnt damage their whiskers & shrimp like to burrow into it too.
I find it good for planting in too as Bettas like heavy planted environments.
I think snails are quite high waste producing, also my betta bit toes of one of my ADF's so keep an eye on them!!
Would love to see pics when its ready!!

what is crab sand? i've got my tank now but as its a birthday present for the 22nd my gf says im not allowed to start setting it up til then so it will be a while yet before pics

sand! very cheap (argos play sand) good for the cory's barbels!

yes the argos and toys r us ones are fine.
Just wash them, till water is clear.

do you have a picture of a tank with it in? i was wanting a light coloured sand

your better off with a darker sand (toys r us) as the fish wont tone their colours down as much as they will with the lighter stuff.
