hi all,

i have setup another tank for my corys, it measure's ( in inches ) 48 x 16 x 16 so 200l.has a sun glo 40w light ( supposed to be twin but removed one. ) i have installed a fluval 304 external filter and i have a temporary, cycled fluval plus 2 internal to help maintain the excess food until the 304 has been colonized with bacteria properly.( i put 4 x cycled sponges inside )

Anyway, current occupants are as follows....

3 adult peppered corys,

4 adult bronze corys,

15 6/7 old cory juveniles,

2 sub adult clown plecos,

1 adult female bn,

1 sub adult talking / Raphael catfish.

my question is, could i keep a female betta or 2 with these tank mates? i like bettas but i cant really setup ANOTHER tank for them as i just dont have any room left

all the tank mates, apart from the gn killer, (the bn), are as soft as butter and wouldnt hurt a fly.

mark.

Yes you can but ensure your tank is planted well, even if it is just one corner and a hiding place. 1 female or 1 male but not both sexes together, if you want more than 1 female,I would aim for 4-5 but start off with 1 and see how she settles x

pics of my tank below, starting with left side, middle and right side.

water level is low as im doing a water change, i like to add the water bit by bit :good:

I'd add more high floating plants or twisted swords, wouldn't change anything else as it looks good x

do you think if i added some camboma to one of the corners the betta would be ok? are they known for attacking other fish?

Yeah, add about 10 strands as a min. They are territorial fish and can be aggressive but not as bad as people make them out to be. If bettas have their own 'space', they should be ok, which by the looks of things in your tank is fine, considering your fish are bottom or middle dwellers. That would leave the betta/bettas the top of the tank.
