Hi everyone, I got some new plants yesterday as recommended by my friends here in the betta community for the 10 gallon holding Crest (Will update photos of that tank soon)

Anyway, I mentioned to the lady about my snail problem in the tank and she suggested I get an "Assassin Snail" to help out. Has anyone heard of these, and are they betta proof? (Of course, if he ate snails this wouldn't be a problem but...maybe he only eats snails that are wanted, how do I know lol)

I have assassins (2) in my 54 litre and they do very well at keeping pest snails at bay, they look quite appealing themselves also so are pleasant to the eye.

I would imagine they would be betta safe - I don't have any in my betta set up, but they sit under the substrate then appear when an unsuspecting snail slides by :)

I have an assassin snail in with my betta and there's never been any problem between them.
Whilst he gets on with the other tank mates - he (am assuming gender) is rather slow at getting the other snails so don't expect one to clear the tank overnight. They take their time! lol

...How did you know I was expecting him to clear the tank overnight? :D

I have Assassin Snails and I was told they eat about one snail a day.  As already said they spend a lot of time under the substrate and generally hunt at night.  They breed quite well too, so I was able to add them to other tanks with no extra cost.  The young take a long time to grow and I have never been over-run with them as they are slow breeders.  Get some, they are far better than using chemicals.
