ok it has happened again. my betta has a little skin coming off his nose, it is almost as if it is peeling away. last time this happened it followed with a zit. unlike last time he has also been getting really pale all of a sudden. then a few minutes later his color returns. he also hasn't been acting normal. he hasn't blow a bubble nest since i took him for spring brake with me. (i took him home with me because i didn't want to leave the little guy alone for a week.) i am starting to really worry about him. do you think i should be?
thats the spot

Your Betta looks bloated in the pale pic but I'm not sure if thats the cause of the pale coloring. Keep up on his weekly water changes, make sure your water parameters are good, feed him smaller meals and try some different foods.

thats from a month ago, i have switched him to a pellet diet for the time being. he has lost a little weight. tommarow is his no food day.

same thing happened with me but i think it was due to him being part of the cycling process. The tank is now cycled and he still looks pale and has small "zits" on his face

After a cycle a Betta is left weak and at great risk of diseases. How old is your Betta? Checkout this website and look under step four, compare the visuals to your Betta: http://www.bettatalk.com/betta_diseases.htm

noting on there matches him. his tale is not clamped and he is relitivly active. been kind of a dreary day so not as active as normal. doesn't seem to give two hoots about the mirror anymore.

i cycled it once when i brought him back to the dorm. thats when the trouble started
but i havn't had the need to cycle it again in a little while. its been a month, although i did top off his tank two days ago.

Keep his water clean and run a course of myxazin. Its hard to tell from the pics as they are a lil bit fuzzy. its the flaking that worries me a tad.

Some red bettas have what look to be "zits" around their head but its mostly just the colouration of them. I had an orange HM with it.

well it is possible he ran into to something again, i feed him with tweezers on occasion it is possible in his attempt to grab food he got poked (this is why i am switching to hand feeding.) from what ppl were saying in the chat room last night they seem to think it was an injury. i will give him the medication you suggested as an antibiotic in case it was a wound.
