:blush: I can't believe I am asking this but....Can bettas be both sexes? Maybe the problem everyone is having telling the boy from the girls is they're both. Maybe it is some genitic oops... some are male...some are female...and some are both.And maybe I just don't know what I am talking about! :rolleyes:

Ah!... yes...... No!.... I don't think so.... (I've heard it of Swordtails)
 
i don't think they can but i'm no expert so haven't a clue :lol:

on the swordtail note it is believed that they stay female because there is already a dominant male in the tank, the male is then removed so the 'sub males' show they are male

yes youve heard right but what youve heard is wrong info, just an old misunderstanding of swordtail colonies and the alpha male leading them, yes sub males are likely to look female but they are never able to drop fry.
