Hows this routine sound?
Monday: Feed two Betta Pellets, remove two ounces of water. Let 3 ounces of tap water in bucket sit with water conditioner in it to become room temp. Place mirror in front of him for stimulation for 3 minutes.
Tuesday: Feed two Tropical Fish Flakes, crushed, add 3 ounces of water mentioned above.
Wednesday: Feed two pellets, remove 3 ounces of water from gravel. Let 2 ounces sit at room tempurature prepared with water conditioner. Let him chase finger for stimulation for 3 minutes.
Thursday: Feed two flakes. Add previously mentioned water.
Friday: Feed two pellets. Remove 2 ounces of water. Let 3 ounces of water sit at room tempurature with conditioner in it. Mirror stimulation.
Saturday: Feed 1 pellet and 1 flake. Add previously mentioned water. Finger Stimulation.
Sunday: Starve day. Mirror and finger movements.
Once a month, first saturday of month, do a complete water change, rinsing gravel.
Sound good? :good:

Is the water conditioned? It should be to remove chlorine. Also, room temperature is too cold for a betta. The tank should have a filter and a heater, be 3 gallons of more, and be around 26 degrees Celsius.

Yes the water is conditioned. This either stress coat or Tetra Easy Balance.

How big is your tank/bowl? In your other post, you said it's 1-gallon? If you don't do a 100% water change every three to four days, your betta will get sick from ammonia poisoning and probably die before the first month's water change is scheduled.

Also, take out most of the gravel since it uses up space that can be filled with water!!!

Or just keep it in a decent tank to begin with, with a cycled filter and heater - since bettas are no different to most other anabantids and require much the same basic equipment, and save yourself a lot of work and your betta a lot of stress and possible disease.
