Betta Questions

I was wondering where I could get a filter for a 2.5 gallon. I'll have to go check that out the next time im at a store. Also, as far as I understand, Bettas are puddle fish, and live in some areas where the water is only an inch or two deep?

You can make your own filter if you have an airpump and small plastic container(old fishfood tub works great). Pm me if you'd like instructions. Very easy to make and they work great! Excellent for bettas as they produce very little current.

Thanks for the offer, but i think i'll stick with buying the 3 gallon with the carbon filter.

I'm glad you're doing your research!! Your fish will thank you. Betas are wonderful, and I'm sure a 2.5 gallon will be fine for one betta. II change the water in my mom's betta abode once a week\, and her betta Inky is fine.

P.S. Don't let the fish store personnel that bettas can go in with guppies, ITS NOT TRUE!!! Anything that looks similar they will attack. Kinda like this fish.

I have heard of peaple keeping a betta with guppys, but i have yet to see it myself and would not try as it would not be fair if he did attack.
I wouldnt want to put him through the stress nevermind the guppys.

I have taken loads information from here for the past year and my tanks are running very smothly.

I found the Mrineland tank, but it was a 5 gallon hex. Same filter though, so I guess it doesnt matter, and the more space the better.

Yep, that will work just fine too. Eclipse used to be an independent company a few years ago, but got bought out by Marineland. Ever since then, I've had a harder time finding the 3 gal, 6 gal, and 12 gal bow front tanks, and their supplies.
I personally never really liked hex tanks because your view of the tank gets chopped up. But they are still nice tanks, just different. And with the filter included, you can't go wrong.
