I want to get a 2.5 gallon soon, and hopefully get a betta and 2 ADF's in the tank. but I was wondering: Do betta's need any surface tension at all? what about ADF's?

How often should I do water changes?

What's the lowest temperature a betta can take? (sometimes my room gets cold)

1. They don't really like filters, bubblers I've not had too much a problem with... but they prefer still waters.
2. Every week is what I do.
3. 68-70 F i believe.

I have a question about the temp that you gave me: 2 degrees is a pretty small range...I though it was like 68-78 or something. Hmmm, I'll put an incandescent light over the tank so it heats during the day. I don't think it would lose a whole lot of heat during nighttime...

On second thought, instead of getting ADF's I will make the 2.5 gallon a planted tank, and get some ghost or cherry red shrimp!

I just might cycle it also, seeing as I'll have plants in there meaning space for bacteria to be on! But I doubt i would cycle it...

Hopefully I can get it next week, maybe at most a month from now...

Any suggestions for plants? All I can think of is Java Moss, maybe some Java Fern.
