Ok, your nitrites are high, so you need to work on bringing those down with water changes. Begin with 25% water changes both in the morning and in the evening. You also really need to get your water tested, since your tank is definately still cycling. That coudl be part of the problem. Add 1 tablespoon of aquarium salt to the tank, as this will reduce the nitrite toxicity. (add back 1/4 table spoon after every 25% water change until this is resolved).

How warm is your tank?

Take the filter media from your big tank & squeeze it gently in a jug of tankwater - tip this water into your Betta's tank. This should give the new tank enough bacteria to finish the cycle if you (& your fish) are lucky.
Put the sponge back in place in the big tank.

test your tap water first, if its like mine water changes wont make much difference as the water is naturally high in nitrates, also a high nitrate reading can affect the nitrite reading, which is the more dangerous of the 2
