G'Day, I have just recently bought a duo betta tank and have two lovely bettas in either side of it - it has a partition in the middle.
One of my two fish (a blue one - named Meeney) seems to be sick, which has me worried. He spends most of his time laying on the bottom of his section. His fins appear stringy and I think he has developed white colouring around his gills, not spots though.
My other betta (Eeeney - white/gold) is happy and active which makes me think it is not the water or the living conditions but I am at a loss as to why Meeney might be so lethargic.
I have changed a quarter of the water and reconditioned it every three days for the past week and I tested the ph yesterday, it was 7.0 and the temperature in the tank is about 25-27C.
Can you help me get my sick fish back on track, the last thing I want is for him to die. I am very new at keeping fish so any advice will help. Am I doing something wrong?
