My new Betta ( almost 2 weeks now) eats very little and ignores the food most of the time. He appears to eat 1 or betta bits aday. My other bettas eat 8 or 10 per day. He flares his gills at the betta next to him so he does not apear to be very sick. Thanks; Don T.

i have a betta like that too. He just won't eat while you watch him. He doesn't appear sick or any thing.

it could be the food because two weeks is a long time to ignore food or eat very little of it, he should be settled in. some bettas can be picky eaters . maybe you should try something new. if you feeding him pellets you should maybe go with something like tropical fish flakes, i suggested that to someone else on this forum and they had success with it. :good:

I agree with Leighann, some Bettas are fussy when it comes to food. My yellow, Legolas would not eat flake when I first got him, he'd only eat pellets, daphnia and bloodworm. After a few weeks he finally decided to try the flake and loves it now!

I have 2 different kinds of pellets. I don't think he has eaten 1 or two in a week. I also tryed brine shrimp and blood worms. I think he ate 1 or two blood worms. thanks; Don T.
