My fish arrived. Poseidone, Amarette, Bubbles & Ein are doing perfectly. Poseidone was bubblenesting heavily a while ago but when I decreased the water I destroyed it.. now he's finally getting his enthusiasm back and he might bubblenest again! Grr! but I have to vaccuum the dirt from the bottom of his tank... ughhhh... Anyway, definately good signs with the female, he'll flare she she's stripe up. Best of luck

1:00 PM, Monday, September 11th - Bettas will be shipped!

Me & my mom are going to the pet shop today, I'm going to look for plant fertilizer and of course, at the bettas! Um, let's see, and a tank divider! Yay! IfI can't find one my did will make a D.I.Y tho... Except he hasn't helped me with the sponger filter yet, weh? OPh well, we'll get to it eventually I hope. The bettas will ship today and spend up to six days travelling, hope it's sooner... :grr: There's a darn good chance they could come on Friday, which I really hope, but uh, next time I want to choose Express. It's probably easier, if eight dollars more expensive.

Tank dividers are sooo expensive to buy! Just DIY! I didn't have anyyyyy of the materials (nup, no silicone glue either) before but I still saved money making a divider myself.
$3.99 - Silicone glue (the 1oz I got should be wayyyyy enough) [Petsmart/lfs/hardware store/art store]
$0.74 - Plastic craft sheet (the mesh divider) [Walmart]
$2.19ish - A package of sliding report cover (Avery's 6 pack; that means you can make 2 more dividers with this) [Office Max]
Total: ~$7.

From what I've seen, tank dividers are usually $12+. Once you have these materials, to make more dividers, you just need to buy more plastic craft sheets (which are either $0.25 or $0.74 at Walmart, depending on what size you want) and you already have the other material! Tada, money saving. I'm all for saving costs where I can.
I used black sliding report cover bars and my tank looks pretty snazzy (whether I have the mesh divider actually in or not). B)

I got a 20g tank divider at Petsmart for $6 and some change :p The 10g dividers were a bit cheaper, and it works very well :)

Great idea and I've got my fingers crossed that your bettas come in sooner rather than later :D

BTW, most LFS/petsmarts/chain stores will match their online prices in the store, which tends to be a bit cheaper than the original in-store price.

UPDATE - 4:30

Went to lfs today, they DIDN'T have tank dividers so we're going to do a rather, "do it themselves type of thing." The glass shop will give us a piece of glass, or plastic or something that fits the tank dimensions for $10, really kinda expensive but at least we can get the perfect size. I was really surpised my lfs, nor Petsmart sold them, but fortunately we have two glass shops in out town. But anyway, picked up a spail (Albino Mystery Snail) for $3.00, put it in the empty 2.5 tank because our ten gallon still needs to be rearranged... I don't know, we do it tommorow when we pick up the glass divider. I'll get pictures. We have potted aquarium plants, I know "wth," but they are rooting and it's two, something called "Frill" and some hornwort. The frill has died because it isn't suited to the aquarium, or is dying, I'm not sure. We added a bubbler so hopefully that will help. Darn, I was gonna pick up some fertilizer for aquariums plants at the lfs.. oh well.
