Hi guys!

I have this betta and he has never had health problems...
so to make a long story short, i put in his tank a female and he loved her...he didnt hurt her or anything, he just flared at her and swam around as happy as never before... and she liked it because she showed vertical stripes and also flared...

later i took her out of his tank and put her in her own tank...

at the store the tank she was in was really dirty and 20 fishes were in there.... only about 8 of those 20 were alive...

any ways,

she was the most active and apparently healthy fish...

this morning my male fish had his mouth white, and where the white area was, he couldnt move any more, as if it was paralyzed..

i didnt find any fish store open today because its a holiday in the town i live in...

he couldnt get air any more, to get air he had to sort of jump out of the water, because his mouth wasnt moving..

his eyes were a little sinked in...

in a few minutes (less then an hour) the white bacteria grew and reached his eyes...at that point he coulnt move his eyes any more...

he acting as if he was being drowned, and was fighting to go up to get air but he couldnt...

and his body was red/lite orange (his original color is a lite skin color)...when his body is light red/orange that means he is extremely stressed..

a few minutes later he started to loose his balance, and couldnt stay still..he was turning side ways and upside down when i moved the water...

as if he was dead, but i knew he wasnt because he still could float and he also moved his tale a bit...

here is a picture of him about 2 days before this happened:

here is a picture of him one night before this happened (you can see his nose is red, that means for some reason he is stressed)..

.........the female betta he got involved with has a little bit of that on her mouth too..and a little bit on the bottom sides of her body (both sides, behind her fins)..
here is a picture of her:

any ways,
my question is:

what is that white thing that paralyzed him in seconds and took over him in minutes?

is there a cure for this??

ALSO: what can i do to disinfect the aquarium he was in?
