Betta Jumps Out Of Tank To Eat?

Whenever I'm about to feed my betta live food, he would look up, see it, leap straight out of the water to grab it off my tweezers, and land back in the water.

Is this normal betta behaviour? Or is mine just particularly impatient/hungry?

mine 'll do it if I hold the food up, it's normal, they're carnivores

Okay then, that's good. It still freaks me out sometimes because I completely forget that it'll jump.
