Hi Folks

The four fry I have left (3 months old) from a spawn all have their mouths locked open, like jawlock. They have trouble eating and hence are quite small. i will try and get pics. It looks like they each in turn rammed the glass with mighty force. Each fish was healthy with normal mouths until suddenly having their mouths locked open on different days. Any ideas? Disease or genetic defect that comes out during development?

Thanks
Lee

I had a PK male like that, he was fine, it didn't affect his eating. Sorry that's all I can offer.

mouth fungus can sometimes do that or it can be a genetic weakness in the fish. Maybe run a course of anti-bacterial medication and see how they do. If it doesn't clear up with that then it is probably genetic.
