Betta In Trouble With Real Bad Finrot!

ok i noticed this morning my betta (cloud) wasnt really moving about alot, he has been hiding behind the filter all day, he did come out and get food, the water stats are fine if you need the exact results i can give, or regive a new test of the water,

anyway to the problem....he came out this morning at around half 11 and i noticed his right fin had a chunk missing, on closer inspection, it was fin rot, with a like white "fluff" where the fin had rotted away, i thought he would be alright if i added some salt to the water (the right salt dont worry not house salt lol) anyway he came out jsut a min ago and his back tail is really badly affected im real worried now and unsure weather to use melifix or not as i added salt, any suggestions would be great!!

I'm not sure about drugs, but I don't think you can go wrong with Melafix. Try to use a small dosage, I'm not sure. Get an experts help for that. If it was fin rot and there was white find growing around the edges, this is a good thing! IT is fin regrowth! It looks like the fin but transparent on the edges. Have you used air fresheners or any strong chemical is that room recently? That could have caused it.

no, but cloud was moved to his new tank on sat.....ive dosed the tank, really hoping he recovers, its just odd that it has happened so quick...unless i somehow didnt notice it by the way, he was a rescue, and in a real state when i got him, and it seems that its the same place that he had bad fins before hand, so this is the second time my bettas fins have gone bad.....but this time he is with me so im intent on treating it quick, thanks for the reply and lets hope a expert sees this!

Once fish have bacterial finrot it can keep coming back.
Melafix is only good once fins are healing.

Any white, red, pink, edging to the fins.
Do the fins look cloudy and transparant.
Any red streaking in fins.
Any holes in fins.
Any excess mucas on fins, or fins sticking together.
Are fins falling apart.

his fins are white at the tip then a red/pink colour just before this, then his fin seems normal, th melafix seems to have helped, the white has nearly gone from the tip of his fins now, the fins are not falling apart, cannot see any red streaking, nor holes, no excess mucas and the fins are not sticking together, he seems much more active today but still hiding alot

I would use a med like myxazin by waterlife or anti internal bacteria med by interpet.
Just dilute the melafix down with a water change and add the med.
