Can't find a before pic, but suffice to say my betta's tank was very bare for a while, with just two silk plants. He did have a ruin ornament, but upon moving it slightly one day, it released various toxins into the water and I had to do a 100% water change. I will never again have hollow ornaments in my tanks. Anyway, his tank now looks like this.

He has a fake Nymphaea plant and another fake plant, a large real Nymphaea which was in my large tank, but has been removed as my barbs and oscar love to eat it. Two new bits of wood, mainly for the two Amano shrimp I have moved out of my large tank, and he also has a coconut cave in there too.

Cute tank!

Wish I could get nice silks like that at my lfs.

looks brill!

I know what you mean about the smelly stagnant water - I have two ornaments that do it, I usually just empty it into a bucket - hasn't done any damage just gut-churning!

Thank you :D

This water actually smelt like burning. It was a terrible stench which filled the entire downstairs of the house! I had to rush out and get some more gravel from the LFS as all the sand had gone funny as well... Touch wood he seems OK with the fine black gravel stuff
