This morning my betta was on it's side at the top of the tank. He didn't move until 1 min after I saw him like that. He's been acting normally and is eating. Iv had him for one month and I've noticed that he often swims sideways ever since I got him. He lives in a 5 gallon filtered and heated tank. So is he ok?

i had same problems with my beta check your water levels and do a water change my little fella managed to survive some pretty bad water levels but he was constantly on his side as you describe he still ate and still swam around but ''rested'' a lot on his side. nitrite levels were off charts for unknown reason but all is well now
