I know that most of you people who breed bettas have their own live food culture to feed their fry. I was wondering if some store baught products would work as well??
The first product is made by Wardley, it's called Smally Fry and it's a liquid. Here is a

Another product is Hikari first bites which are pellets. Here is a link for those as well.
I was only wondering if this would make it easier if I ever attempt to breed.
Thanks

Dried/pellet foods, from what I've read, simply do not have enough of the essential fatty acids (among other things) required for maximum growth rate. Another issue is, most young fry won't take foods that don't move. Yet one more issue - It's much easier to overfeed, and the food fouls the water much more quickly from what I've seen.

Personally, when my fry are a few weeks old, they start to get a larger variety of foods, live and frozen. When they are 6 or 7 weeks, they get some flake and smooshed peas in rotation too. By the time they're around two months, I can feed them as I do my adults, although I usually feed the juvies just a bit more frozen and live then the adults.

My new favorite live food is grindal worms. My beebees think they've died and gone to fishie heaven during grindal time.

Hat’s off. Well done, as we know that “hard work always pays off”, after a long struggle with sincere effort it’s done.

Wardley has a liquid fry food, you should be able to pick it up at the pet store Im sure Wardley is sold world wide we get it here in Australia. Hatching live brine shrimps can help and some countries are allowed to have worm culture but not us quarantine no no. But if you are having problems getting the fry food you can make your own. Boiled egg yolk its a good source of protein. Some people crumble it up in water and spray it onto the water. Do you have mosquitoes? You can breed them in stale water, the fry love them. But just remember any leftover food need to be removed as you will end up with problems.
