Hi everyone,
I hope someone can help. I have a female Betta fish. I have had her for about 6 months. While I have had her, she has been a very healthy fish - she eats lots (freeze-dried brine shrimp, freeze-dried blood worms, flake food, and occasionally small pieces of cooked corn or peas, but not all that at the same time, of course!).
I only recently started her off on the blood worms because I read that Betta fish like them. However, after I started her on them, she seemed to decide she only wants to eat them, which has been worrying me slightly. The other food she just puts in her mouth and then spits out after a bit.
Today I was feeding her some small bits of a piece of cooked corn and she ate them up right away. But as I fed her, I noticed that she had started pooping brownish-red colored liquid. I immediately got really worried and watched her some more, but she continued to swim around and go after the pieces of corn.
I came back later and saw her poop out the reddish-brown colored liquid again. It looks like she has diarrhea but I can't find much about this on the internet. Other than the liquid, she seems to be fine (swimming around, looks alert, body looks healthy, eyes are normal, etc).
Has anyone else had this problem before? Does she need medication??? Any help is GREATLY appreciated. I don't want my Betta to be sick!!!
THANK YOU!!!!!
