:Di have four juvenile betta in 4 separate bowls. i just want to know the types of feed that can be given to the fish to enhance their color.

can i decorate the bowl with plants (plastic)

food colouring lol no dont actually try that it would be kruel

As for color enhancing foods im not sure. I have heard some types of fish eggs bring out colors in fish, Lobster eggs i think. Anyway, how big are these juvies? I fed my betta frozen blood worms, and frozen brine shrimp. He was an adult betta. If they are closer to betta fry newly hatched brine shrimp i beleive is whats best. But really thats for very small fish. As for store bought foods go, read the label and see what they are using to enhance color i would stay away from any artificial junk. Most betta flakes or pellets should be a good feed, as long as they take to it. If they dont, go get some frozen stuff. i doubt they'd turn that down.

:good: good luck

Where abouts are you located? I feed mine betta flakes and also a small pinch of growth and colour enhancing pellets i get from the pet shop. Have a look at the side of the food containers and see what ones enhance colour and what goodness they have in em :)

Hikari betta bio-gold is excellent for colour and all round health... it's expensive but with only a few it doesn't matter. It's when you're breeding seriously (and you have a few hundred juvies growing on at any given time) that you can't afford to feed it.

Hikari pellets are great. If the juvis are struggling eith them, crush the pellets up a little unitl their mouths are big enough to eat a whle one.

Oh yeah, plants. Silk are better - plastic ones can rip the bettas fins. The test is to get a pair of tights and run them over the plastic plant - if they snag, they it's a no no.

the bettas are 1 to 2 cms long

owow very small, crushed pelets or they probaly cant eat them, how big are the containers? how old r the babies and r the containers heated? bettas prefer about 78 so most home in winterland are too cold and supplemtal heating is required, if they are realy young then they wont grow properl;y if they tanks are too cold

I always thought brine shrimp enhanced color? You could try frozen daphnia, they are very small, but it's best to feed those to your betta by a medicine dropper, so you dont over feed.

i live in tropic climate so heating wont be necessary.i dont know about the age of the betta, each fish is kept in a average sized gold fish bowl (1 gallons approx)
