My female betta Nira keeps fanning out her fins CONSTANTLY, and I don't know what she is doing it at.

I'm very messy, so for a long while I had garbage by her tank (On my desk, not the floor. I'm not THAT messy :S) and I thought she was puffing at the garbage. But now there isn't any garbage and she keeps puffing at me. Or the desk. She just keeps puffing, and she does it CONSTANTLY. She used to do it behind my computer (The tank is beside my computer monitor, so she can see behind the monitor and then out to my room) and I figured it was something with behind the computer, so I put a black sheet of paper up so she can't see there. She stopped. But now she's doing it at me or the desk or I don't even know but I want her to stop, it's aggravating me not knowing why she's puffing all the time.

Usual reason for this is looking out of a tank they usually see mirrored, esp when rooms dark and there lights on, so she sees herself and sparing at reflection, nothing to worry about, betta keepers often use a mirror against tank to promote them displaying fins for taking photos

Oh, phew. Yes, my room is generally dark and she has a light in her tank. So that would be why. Thank goodness, I was worried. Thanks! :D

Hehe not to worrie, we sometimes panic when things do not seem normal

When she flares(puffs up) does her "beard" go all the way under her chin or is it just the sides where her gills are? Also, are there any other fish in the tank?
