Betta Exercise Mirror!

Just seen this when I googled "betta bed" and was wondering what it was. Doesnt that idiot company realise that a betta flaring all the time is stressful and more than likely bad for their health?? Just wanted to share this with all you "BETTA FANATICS"

It does say at the end "place in the with your betta for no more than 5 minutes", which if you think about when your having a photo shoot with your fish and you want flaring its what you do. I do it with my Dempsey to get him to flare for pictures. I've done it twice in 2 years of having him and thus it isnt an issue.

On occasion when required i can't see an issue with it. Certainly if you were to leave it in there then your bordering on cruelty to your betta as yes it would be stressfull.

Well I didnt watch the vid until the end, ofcourse leaving it in for a few minutes is not a problem but do you think kids and people that dont know any better will "follow the rules"....

No, but does anything in life go how its supposed to. The rules are there for those who are respectfull and understanding, there will always be morons who think they are above "the rules".

Kids drink, do they stick to their limits? No, they go OTT and hurl up everywhere or worse.
Do drivers stick to the speed limits in signs? No, they push limits
A sign on a can of deodrant says "keep away from flames", hell as a kid even i sprayed one over a lighter

Rules are there for guidance, there will be those who break them. Principly i think its a good product, i have no use for one and would never get one, but for what it does it does it well. Unfortunately your right, some will abuse it.

mirrors and flaring are actually good for the fish. they can help with fin issues (ie crooked rays) and constipation. also boredom. i would never buy a purpose-made "betta mirror" tho- gimmicky!!! any shiney surface does the same trick (ie blank cd's old hard drive platters etc). just a money-making racket.
