betta died

My betta died the other week, i looked at him the night before he seemed fine But the next day he was at the bottom and i tried to move him but he died pretty much straight away I had a good look at him he looked fine nothing odd about him at all, does any one think it could have just been old age?
He was lovely always came to the front of the tank when i approached.

I am not too sure i brought him about 1and a half year ago, he was quite big then

i think they ususally live about 2 years so maybe just old. poor little dude
