i have 10 neon tetras

10 hengel's rasboras

and 2 ghost shrimp

i just now put my betta into the same tank as them. they seem fine right now, but do u think the large schools of these tiny fish will pick on the betta's big fins? or the betta try to attak the smaller fish?

the betta has been looking at the ghost shrimp but its to fast for him.

do u think this is alright? im trying to make an effect like a bunch of small schooling fish schooling around while there is a center peice fish with large beautilful fins swimming slowly for all to see.

It depends on the individual fish I think. Tetras can actually be nippy, and even though mine are fine 99.9% of the time, I've seen them once gang up on a BN catfish over an algae wafer. I guess time will tell. I'd keep a close eye on everyone.

Neons can be a little nippy with bettas, i personally wouldn't have them together but others do and have no trouble, so i would say it was a case of jus keeping an eye on his fins for rips and also watch him with them too as he may see them as a threat. Good luck with it and i hope they all get on fine

i have had a betta with 5 cardinal tetras for about 3 weeks and they have been ok so far. My betta is very fast and the tetras tend to move out of his way. obviously keep an eye on them both as mentioned before.
