A friend and I want to try breeding bettas. Any special tips that we definitely need to know? We've been doing some research online and in some books. How much light do we need for the fry and over the bubble nest? It seems like we're going to have to experiment different ways to do things, but any tips or advice would be very helpful. Thanks!

Lots of good imfo on the internet. I will add 2 things: 1. Make sure the female is full of eggs. 2. Be present for the breeding incase things go wrong. Don T.

There are some really good pinned topics on this forum, check out wuvs breeding pin, it covers just about everything. I would like to stress though, that it's not a good idea to breed pet store bettas, if you want to breed buy a nice pair from a reputable breeder.

theres some great topics on the forum and round the web wuvmybetta has done a great post from start to finish. All im gonna say is start getting jars :good:

i agree with jaded do not use petstore bettas even tho online pure breeds are more expensive it helps not to breed petstore bettas!
Good Luck

i suppose you could but you would get mutts and oyu will ifnd it hard to find homes. Please don't support the betta in a cup.
