I have a male betta in a 10 gallon tank and would like to add some kind of bottom feeder. I would like to know if corys are okay or if I should get snails. Thanks

Yup! Cories should be okay! ^.^; Snails can over-run the tank, should you forget to clean it! D: Most Bettas won't chase after cories, but yours might be the exception if it's a mean one. The ones I've had haven't been, though. They're usually pretty peaceful. :3

corys are fine choice for tankmates! snails also a good choice! especially trumpet snails if you have sand. Along with the corys will help keep the sand turned over. you sill not be over run with them unless you overfeed the tank. an apple snail is another good choice. they are VERY cool critters and will not reproduce if only one in the tank (they are not hermaphroditic-need two of opposite sexes).
good luck!
cheers
