Hello,

I have owned bettas and african clawed frogs for many years now. I have yet to put them together due to the extremely carnivorous nature of ACF's...
Has anyone ever kept these together?
If you do not know what an african clawed frog is, just read about them on a wiki or something.
I put around 20 goldfish in their tank and within 20 minutes they are all gone. so i am thinking they would gobble up a betta like nothing...
hmm.

he would soon become lunch, if your wanting frogs with bettas maybe try get some African Dwarf Frogs instead

Betta + African Clawed Frog = A very full frog

Also, you should not feed goldfish to your frog! Any amount of ACF research will tell you the same. First of all, goldfish block the frog's ability to absorb B enzymes, second of all - feeder fish are absolutely riddled with disease. By feeding them to the frog you are exposing it to disease that could potentially kill it. All in all, feeding diseased, unhealthy food is just a bad idea!

Proper ACF diet includes Reptomin sticks, Frozen bloodworms, earth worms, crickets (males only). Never feed any species of feeder fish, only fish that could be fed are guppies IF and ONLY IF you raise your own to ensure they are disease free. Also, never feed any type of fish flake or freezedried food.

Frogs are also very messy and need large systems - It says here you have 4 frogs. What size tank(s) are they in?

Over crowding is a main contributor to ACF disease.

I have four large ACF in a 10g tank and I feed them like 20 goldfish a week.
You can say its dangerous, unhealthhy habitat, and full of disease but they have been fine like that for 5 years +.

they are "fine" because they are tough, this does not mean they are thriving which is the goal of any dedicated pet owner. You don't want your pet to be in "survival" mode in order to live with you.

I suggest you do some research on how to properly care for these frogs. You should have a minimum of a 25 gallon tank, filtered and these frogs need proper diets.

you have no way of feeling what they feel - any amount of research would tell you that ACF need larger quarters than what you are providing.

They recommend 10 gallons for 4-5 african DWARF frogs! Never mind frogs that are 3-4X that size with a huge waste out put.

IMO the tank set up is just plain cruel.

Why keep a pet if you are unwilling to give it proper care? You wouldn't keep 4 Mastiff's in a one bedroom apartment would you?
