Hi,

I bought a beta last week. It was dark blue with red in some areas. His color is also slowly fading away. It's fins are becoming sort of light green to almost transparent. Also, it's not feeding well. Did not even eat a single pellet of beta food since i got him a week ago. Please help. I'm new in this.

hmmm..

does he notice the food? Try giving the water a swirl to make the pellet more appealing, or try frozen bloodworms and dangle a defrosted worm using your finger at the water surface,no betta can resist that ;)

he may just be losing his color because he's hungry :/ , hopefully he's not ill at all ;)

Don't forget in most lfs stores they feed bettas color enhancing pellets so its not uncommon to get the color fade a bit. Hopefully he's not sick ;)

:( Caz, I just checked the website and looks like my fish is getting dropsy. The websites says there's no cure to it. And thanks everyone for your kind advice.

sorry hornet, dropsy's a tough one, at least it didn't linger on for weeks :/
