Hey everyone =)

My name is Dani, and I'm 19 years old.

I work in a locally owned and operated tropical fish store in my hometown, and take pride in it! I love working there and have been wanting a tank since I started, and finally got one a couple of days ago! Its handy because I know most of the stuff about tanks, since I explain the stuff to customers every day over and over... so hopefully I'll avoid making the "newbie" mistakes =)

I just added my first fish today, 5 red phantoms, and they're swimming around happily now ^^

but you didn't cycle your new tank before adding fish?

I used "Stability", a super concentrated good bacteria that puts the bacteria straight in your sponge, and I added the fish now and am watching the levels. Also using "Prime" which gets rid of ammonia and detoxifies Nitrites and Nitrates. So I suppose I'm doing a fish cycle.

I actually didnt know you could even *do* a fishless cycle until I was reading some posts last night...

well as long as your keeping an eye on your levels now you'll be fine just no more fish til it cycles! hehe.
