Best Way To Stock A Tank

After finishing my cycle i really cant affored to stock my tank fully straight away so whats the best way to do it?

If i add 5 or 6 fish today how long should i wait before adding some more?

the excess bacteria will just die off if the bio-load isnt sufficient 2 feed the full amount of bacteria so adding fish gradually after would be much better so say anythink from 1-2 fish every 2-4 weeks should be ok IMO

Will the bacteria start dieing off straight away?

I can add at least 7 fish today and maybe 4 or 5 in a few days but obv if the bacteria starts to die straight away i will just wait a few weeks

The die off is gradual but the best bet is to put in as much of the stocking as you can reasonably do. If you wait more than a few days after that, just take the additions slow and all will be well. I try to limit my changes in stocking levels to no more than 20% at a time. After such an addition, I will give the filter at least a week to catch up. In theory, the bacteria in your filter can double daily so you would think you could double the stocking daily, but it doesn't work out that way.
