Basically what the title says. I have two syodontis catfish which i brought years ago when when they were small and I didn't know any better. They lived in a 50ish liter tank before I moved them into my new 90 liter tank about 4 months ago. Got some advice that they were still too big for my tank on here so I started looking for another bigger tank, came home with a 175 liter which still isn't up and running due to my dad thinking that it'll be too heavy for upstairs (that's another story). Even when/if I can get that up and running I'm not sure if I'll want them, maybe it's just the size of the tank that makes them look more boisterous then they actually are but they do dominate the food.

So yeah I just want to know where the best place to sell them is. I don't want to take them to a fish shop because theirs a chance they'll just be sold to someone with a smaller tank again, I'd happily give them away to someone who has a good home for them for nothing.

Whereabouts are you, OP? In the UK Aquarist Classified is a pretty good way of rehoming fish; it's free to put an advert up.

Thanks for the reply! I'm down in Dorset, I'll have a look there then.

Also worth asking in your local fish shop if they would take the fish off your hands. Depends whether you expect anything for them or whether you just want to see them go to a better home.

I would hesitate to take them to my LFS because they've got a tank full of grown syodontis catfish which don't look like they get sold, and even if they did I would rather make sure they get a good home myself rather than sold to the next person making the same mistake I did and keeping them in a inadequate tank. I'd let them go for nothing to a good home.
