What is the best conditioner that removes the ammonia in tap water. I was testing my water today, and decided to test the tap water while I was at it, and I got an ammonia reading off of it that is 0.25.
What is the best conditioner in your opinions that removes cholrine, chloramine and ammonia?

Im not aware that you can buy a conditioner that will remove Ammonia from water. If your tank is well established and you only do a 20% water change a week it shouldn't cause any problems as the ammonia will be very diluted and the bacteria will convert it quick.

Ammonia in your tap water in Canada? Wow... If the tank is small enough you might want to use purified water (ie bottled or safeway water). As it really doesn't cost that much for simply a ten gal. There are also a couple of products on the market that suppositly *lock away amonia where it will still show up on your readings but it wont harm your fish. Personally I have never used this product myself but it may work for you if you use it sparingly. Just wondering "Sherwood Park" is that a town as I've never heard that as a city, and if town then perhapes it may be just your well water.

We are running on Edmonton water I think. Sherwood Park is a suburb of Edmonton, Alberta.
I would rather not use chemicals that mess up my testing. I think I am going to take your advice for the bottled water. Can I use distilled, or should it be the spring water?
