I want to mark my fish nets some way so I know which tank they belong to. I can't think of a good way though :dunno:

What do all of you do?

The colored electrical tape idea sounds good

Well I try to keep them on the tanks but sometimes I'll move them and forget to put them back so it would just be easier to have them marked with something so I don't accidently dip the wrong net in the wrong tank.

I'll definately look for colored electrical tape next time I am at the hardware store.

Why does it matter? I use the same net for all my fish and fish tanks, except for the big one I use to catch my blood parrot or Gourami if needed.

yeh, i use the same nets for all my tanks except i use my big net to catch big fish or a big bunch of fish and my small net fore the same thing

well, the theory goes that nets can cross-contaminate between tanks. people who are really serious and own four or five specialty tanks, or are breeders, or just get new fish in a lot -- potentially spreading diseases takes on a special significance.

definitely you don't want to use the same net for an iso-tank as your showcase.

anyways, i've seen "net cleaners" on the market...? might that work as a good solution?

Be sure to stick a piece of the appropriate colored electrical tape somewhere on the tank to - so you remember which color marked net goes with which tank. (I know I'd be sitting there going..."darn it, which tank does the red net go to?")

that is true;however if you keep your net in a bucket of water that has myxazin(or similar) there will be no bacteria alive on the net to do any harm.

this is what I do.

double the dosage you would for treating a tank
IE 4 drops per gallon not 2

5 gallon bucket = 20 drops.
