Hi all
after fishless cycling my tank i have added a selection of malawi cichlids and a synodontis. Everything is going fine but i wish to do my weekly maintenance ie water change substrate vac etc.My problem is that i have a lot of rock in the tank for the cichlids natural habitat, so does this mean i need to move all of the rock each week to vac underneath it? my other question is what is the best way to vac up coral sand as its a lot finer than gravel and could get sucked through with the water??
Any help or other tips much appreciated
best wishes berbie

Just leave the rocks etc where they are.

I have sand substrate, that is even finer that yours. Just get a a length of food safe tube & suck of the debris from the top of the substrate.
