I don't think it's realistic that you ask us what size thank you should buy. It depends on your budget, space and what fish you want to keep.

Therefore it's impractical for me to vote.

the bigger the better i say.....just a shame we dont have any room!!! but we are thinking of changinf our 4ft for a 6ft, think we can just about squeeze it in!!!!!!

I agree with the previous posts.........

........we can't tell as it is down to your space, budget etc.........

......but a rule of thumb is get the biggest you can fit and afford to run.

You don't hear of many people downsizing their tanks.

Reducing the NUMBER of their tanks........yes......but not the size......

i never thought of that but what if bugget and size did not matter

because i am converting 3m 3m 3m room in to a small fish room

so is better to have smaller tank or just big tanks or a mixjure

i would get a decent size tank if finances, room etc allow.100 gallons is a good size.not too big and not too small.100 gallons will allow you to keep almost any fish with exceptions of big cats etc.

bigger is better
500 for me

 well again - it really just depends on what fish you want to keep. If money nor size or space is an issue, then the world's your oyster
It's entirely up to you - you're gonna have to narrow it down somewhat in order for anyone here to give you a sensible opinion.

Of course, bear in mind that wit a few mid-large size tanks instead of one humungous one, you can vary what you keep.

By that I mean you could set up a few different biotopes.

I am :p
and you are haveing the bigger one

As has been said before whatever you can fit in and you can afford to run.
remember the bigger the tank = more money spent on more fish and (more importantly) a bigger fish food bill each month.

The best tank is the biggest one you can accomidate and afford, for most adults this will be in the region of 90 to 180 gallons. The bigger the tank the easier it is to maintain and the more stable its parameters are, if you can afford a 500g and have a room big enough for it then get one.

im saying 150 g cause you can house most fish and you are not wasting extra money for heat filtration ect cause most of the time you wont youse that extra 100g to 350g

Well you certainly couldn't do that in one tank -_-
I'd just buy two 250 gallons if you want to do that
